Description

Learn the basics of drama and acting in this exciting and energizing course! From theatre history to improv, this class is designed to give you a basic foundation of the world of drama.

Skills to be covered include: Basic theatre terminology; Stage direction and blocking; Exploring theatre history and applying it in contemporary drama; script analysis and its role in performance; Memorization; Character development; Introduce concept of stage business and how to integrate into a performance; Understand how costumes and makeup communicate information about character.

Kane Todd

Kane is a Junior at MSU majoring in history and minoring in theatre. He has always had a passion for theatre and grew up on the stage. Kane defines his greatest joy in life as “helping someone find love for their craft and themselves on a stage.” He has been a part of the CYT family for over three years now, instructed a variety of classes/workshops, worked on five stage productions, and is currently the Director for Into the Woods the Musical, here at CYT Lake Charles.
