Acting Rotation: An introduction to the basics of stage acting. Students will gain basic skills in acting, analyzing, and a working vocabulary of theatre terms. Students will develop an understanding of, and appreciation for, the craft of acting and the art of theatre. Discover the person as a performer and gain confidence on stage through theatre games, exercises, monologues, and scene work. 

Dance Rotation: No matter if you haven’t had any dance training at all or if you have been taking dance for years, you can perform like a professional on stage! The main focuses of this class will be knowing the basic steps, sharp energetic execution, and storytelling through dance. Mastering these three focuses can turn a show into a masterpiece!

Kane Todd

Kane is a Junior at McNeese State University majoring in History and minoring in theatre. He has always had a passion for theatre and grew up on the stage. Kane defines his greatest joy in life as “helping someone find love for their craft and themselves on a stage.” He has been a part of the CYT family for over two years now, and has worked on three stage productions and instructed a variety of classes and workshops and is currently the Director for Addams Family The Musical, here at CYT Lake Charles.


Karlie Powers

Karlie was a dancer for 16 years, performed in theatre for 5 years and taught the Fall Musical Theatre Dance Class for CYT. She is currently a hairstylist and enjoys dancing, being creative, and spending time with my friends and family. "I love all things musical theatre and I love being a part of CYT!"
